Jordan Fly Lockdown Deconstructed Report

The Jordan Fly Lockdown is the newest style of this season ,it  features a lightweight textile construction and Nike Zoom Air cushioning for comfortable containment and a responsive feel. So this one is popular once released . Especially for the runner , all of them are keen on this style of shoes , also it is the great basketball shoes , so today we will check it .

We can see the constructed of the shoes  from this picture ,Forefoot ZOOM AIR cushion, arch TPU support plate.

For the material : it is used the leather, synthetic, and textile upper which provides you more supportive.maybe the  lightweight injected Phylon (IP) providing lateral stability when playing but allowing the toebox to flex freely while running. The Jordan Fly Lockdown is extremely performance well  especial when you running, so this one is popular in the running shoes market.

Here are the details as below:

There are the soft knits inside which make the shoes more comfortable.

 

We can see the lace system clearly .The lacing system is both traditional and internal, but it’s straight-forward; then the lace system  allows the shoe to be pulled easily around the foot.  so we can adjust it easy .There is also the webbing which is integrated to the laces to provide the maximum lockdown feel and support.

Then we can see the constructed of the  boost— Zoom Air and injected Phylon have been around the boost .

We can’t felt a lot for the response  , The forefoot Zoom feels bottom-loaded , but we can’t felt the impact when playing the forefoot feels low . Coupled with the great forefoot traction the Fly Lockdown is one of the quickest-feeling shoes I have played in recently. if you are like the feeling of impaction and responsive ,maybe the Adidas shoes will be the best choice .

We can see the PHYLON material ,the midfoot and heel are just Phylon, but whatever Nike has decided to do with its normal budget foam lately,  When Phylon first appeared it was a softer carrier and it felt great underfoot.

For the traction : Circles and herringbone designed this time .

There are the data of midsole.  The lateral midsole sculpting may be the craziest I’ve ever seen — the Phylon wings on the heel and forefoot overlap and extend like a roof over the sides.

Compare with  three styles of TPU support plate, the PG1 will be bigger then others .

PG1: about 83.59 mm wide and about 8.10 mm thick
PG2: width about 83.41 mm, thickness about 11.05 mm
LOCKDOWN: width 78.80, thickness about 8.36 mm

So according the  above data and comparison , the Fly lockdown’s forefoot Zoom feels  nice which we can got the bottom-loaded and  it  can quickly responsive , but the PG 1 ,2 will be better.

Overall,It is a lightweight and has comfortable containment with a responsive feel ,also theZoom air cushioning performance well .This is the year Jordan Brand has offered great performance for every player

Jordan Fly Lockdown Performance Review

Every year it seems Jordan Brand makes a great team shoe before game .  The Jordan Fly Lockdown was released .Some player said  the Jordan Fly Lockdown gives you total support and an unbeatable fit while giving you the explosive cushioning you need to reach a new level of flight.

So we will check it today .

For the box , it is normal. The black with Jordan Jumpmen in gold .

As usually ， there  are the info of the side of box .

For the material ,leather, synthetic, and textile upper provides you with a supportive feel.Then the lightweight injected Phylon (IP) gives you a stable ride and upgraded explosiveness. this setup  actually used in a lot of kind of sneakers . The Jordan Fly Lockdown is extremely performance well and if I was a lighter high-flyer these would have been perfect.

The forefoot Zoom feels  nice which we can got the bottom-loaded ,the same time  the initial response isn’t felt, but  seems it can work when playing the forefoot feels low and quick with no impact problems at all.Also I can felt the quick start when playing.so I can do what I want to do.

 

For the supporting : we can see the a textile upper and a lower cut for the supporting .It is work a lot for protection ankle .Though I did feel the Air unit, which is always a good part and  it can offer the budget model . It’s nothing too crazy really, don’t expect some huge bounces or amazing impact protection from it. Sometimes  I felt  it a little  like the  Adidas shoes, such as the NMD. The ZOOM Air unit is still adds quite a bit of responsiveness , The NMD shoes also have a great bounce ,but the Fly also nice ， it will be a little hard.if some one dont like the soft traction pattern but like the great responsive , this one is the best option for you . It didn’t feel like a regular Phylon midsole that you can find on others team models, but responsive and low to the ground in the forefoot.

 

 

For the fitting ,wide footers should go true to size due to pretty wide structure and stretchable upper. If you have a narrow/regular foot, then I recommend going ½ a size down.

The outrigger is on the smaller side, it works perfectly to keep you from rolling over on hard slides and cuts.

Solid rubber outsole provides a durable, multi-surface grip.

For the traction : The outsole sports a modified herringbone with some pivot circle patterns along the lateral side. The rubber isn’t too hard, but it is enough for playing . we can felt nice and the grip is good . I played 2 hours , I feel it nice ,the traction pattern can not easy worn out .The forefoot has the large concentric circles for traction under the middle of the forefoot， so the grip is great ,but  breaking up the circles is a thick, maybe the reason is herringbone pattern that leads to the medial side, where a player would toe off  , but for the some player, it is not a big problem.

For the weight , The right shoe weighs about 371.0 grams, and the average weight weighs about 374.3 grams.Compare with other shoes, this one will be  light if you are running it.

Overall, The Jordan Fly Lockdown  is nice , it is have the comfortable material  , and supporting ,a well-rounded cushion setup, decent traction and ,then the rubber pattern is my best favorite . Of course ,I wear it casual day  , it is also great .
