Deconstructed Report of ASICS GELHOOP V15 

ASICS GELHOOP series basketball shoes released the brand-new generation V15. It improves the comfort level and cushion performance. Let’s have a look at its inner structure.

The half-sole inner sleeve design is mesh fabric material which fit the foot well and improve the air permeability.

The reverse side of shoe head adds hot-melting material to improve the vamp strength.

The surface of shoe-pad uses fabric material. The shoe heel has upturning design.

The reverse side of shoe-pad is densely covered ventilated holes to improve the air permeability.

The length of EUR42.5 shoe-pad is about 277mm.

The width of EUR42.5 shoe-pad is about 94.24mm.

The thickness of EUR42.5 shoe-pad is about 5.84mm.

The surface of insole fabric is made of EVA. The arch position has ventilated holes.

The reverse side of insole fabric uses non-woven material.

The stitches of insole fabric is close.

The FlyteFoam lightweight insole technology offer good cushion performance. The starting speed is fast.

The insole of half-sole adds 6 grooves to improve the exercising flexibility.

The ventilated holes on arch position adds mesh fabric material which keeps the air permeability and prevent the dust into the shoes.

The dark blue is EVA material which is used to prevent the GEL contacting with glue. Then the GEL will lose the cushion effect. The wathet blue is GEL, which offer good resilient feedback.

Deconstructed Report:

Vamp: The breathed coat vamp is covered with a layer of PU thin layer, which keeps the good air permeability and stability. The shoe heel is filled with thick foam. It’s comfortable.

Insole: The FlyteFoam lightweight insole technology with extended TRUSSTIC SYSTEM offer good cushion performance and stability. The shoe heel has independent GEL, which offer comfortable cushion.

Overall: The appearance of ASICS GELHOOP V15 basketball shoes continue the design of GELHOOP series shoes. It adjusts the insole structure and enhances the scrolling. The cushion performance of shoe heel is also improved. So the overall performance of GELHOOP V15 is improved a lot.

ASICS GEL-KINSEI BLAST Performance Review

ASICS GEL-KINSEI BLAST was originally launched in Oct, 2021. And it keeps releasing new colorways. After more than one year, ASICS GEL-KINSEI BLAST has been upgraded. Many runners and shoe fans like the GEL-KINSEI’ series shoes.

The GEL-KINSEI series shoes are inspired by the armor worn by Japanese samurai warriors. The appearance is special. Now it’s integrated with BLAST series running shoes, both the appearance and comfort level are good.

The original GEL-KINSEI was released in 2006 and ASICS called it ‘The future of running.’ Inspired by the armour of the Oriental samurai, the designers wanted to make a running shoe that would be protective and flexible like armour. The idea also influenced the appearance of the shoes, including the composite material that mimics armor structure, and the insole configuration (solyte lightweight material, impact guidance system, segmental exposed GEL etc.). With excellent material and modern appearance, it became the synonym of ASICS top running shoes at that time. It was also awarded the ‘GOOD DESIGN AWARD’ in Japan that year.

This series was stopped after releasing GEL-KINSEI 6. The original GEL-KINSEI debuted in 2019. ASICS released brand-new models in 2021, GEL-KINSEI enters a new generation by integrating with the idea of BLAST series running shoes.

ASICS GEL-KINSEI:

  • It has 6 generations during 2006-2017.
  • It’s inspired by the armour of the Oriental samurai to pursue the cushion protection and supporting performance.
  • The original GEL-KINSEI debuted in 2019.
  • ASICS added the trampoline structure of BLAST in 2021 and released the brand-new GEL-KINSEI BLAST.

The GEL-KINSEI BLAST continues the samurai spirit. The insole of GEL-KINSEI BLAST uses 4 kinds of different technologies.And It’s presented with the image of samurai sword.

GEL-KINSEI BLAST is just like the creator in the story of Japanese manga ‘Strong Armour’. ASICS combines modern techniques to create new KINSEI. Through the density of knitted fabrics and color block configuration, the shoe body interprets the gorgeosity and elegance of Japanese armor. The insole uses FF BLAST, FF BLAST PLUS foaming material, PEBAX propulsion plate and GEL materials. The configuration is excellent.

The shape of outsole and insole is great. It integrates with the arc-shaped structure of BLAST running shoes.

The characteristics of ASICS GEL-KINSEI BLAST:

The superstratum of insole is FF BLAST technology, and the substratum of insole is FF BLAST PLUS technology.

The insole is inserted with PEBAX propulsion plate.

The heelpiece and outboard forefoot sole has GEL.

The half sole integrated with the trampoline structure of BLAST series running shoes.

The outsole uses AHAR wear-resisting rubber material.

The drop height of men’s model is about 10mm (the height of half sole is about 20mm, and height of heelpiece is 30mm).

The drop height of women’s model is about 10mm (the height of half sole is about 19mm, and height of heelpiece is 29mm).

ASICS GLIDERIDE Performance Review

After MetaRide released on February, 2019, Ride series released the running shoes ASICS GLIDERIDE with GuideSole technology which are customized for most of the runners.

Unboxing & Appearance

ASICS held a competition in Utah on Sept. 7th. 30 peoples who comes from different countries and have different sports level come to visit this competition. The result indicates that every runner’s performance improved by an average of 24%, and their actual running times and mileage exceed individual expectations, which shoes the advantages of Glideride.

  1. Insole: The insole Guidesole is arc-shaped structure. It has the effect to push the runners to move forward when running. It can save the runner’s energy.
  2. The insole of GlideRide uses guide structure. The upper layer is FlyteFoam Lyte light cushion technology. The light and durable organic fiber energy will brings excellent cushion performance to you. And the sublayer use FlyteFoam Propel foaming technology. FlyteFoam make the sole light, and Propel can offer resilience. With such combination, it will bring enduring elastic and cushion performance.
  3. It still uses classic GEL on the shoe heel of FlyteFoam insole. It can reduce the impact force when falling to the ground. It not only brings the comfort feeling, but also protect your feet.
  4. GildeRide is the great and classic running technology. As the star technology of ASICS, 3D Guidance Line can make you running more stable.

The Arah Plue outsole is durable. The mesh grain of outsole can offer excellent traction  performance.

Performance Review:

  1. Comfort Level

I feel wired when wearing ASICS GLIDERIDE in the beginning. The radian of shoe head is a little exaggerated. But it’s stable than normal running shoes. The GUIDESOLE design can push you to go ahead. So it’s bound to run. It’s not suitable to be a pair of casual shoes.

  1. Fit & Support

ASICS GLIDERIDE uses knitted mesh and TPU coating film shoe lacing holes, which has good air permeability, stability and durability.

The main advantages of ASICS GLIDERIDE is resilience and cushion performance. Ascis always pay much attention on the arch supporting performance. But Metaride and Gilderide de-emphasize the arch supporting performance. It only has a 3D Guidance Line.

  1. Cushion Performance & Abrasive Resistance

As we mentioned, GlideRide uses guiding type insole structure. The combination of FlyteFoam and Propel have the light weight and good resilience. Although the area of GEL on the shoe heel is not bigger than MetaRide, but the cushion performance is good enough.

For the abrasive resistance, as it uses AHAR PLUS durable rubber outsole, I only run about 43km, so I can’t see the difference of sole at present.

  1. Appearance & Weight

The appearance of GlideRide is different with previous Asics series running shoes. It looks dynamic.

The unit weight of GlideRide is about 295g. It’s a little heavy for the speed type runners.

Overall:

The appearance of GlideRide is cool, it has 3 colorways, black, blue and red. I prefer to the red one. As the red one is attractive.

GlideRide is made for the beginning runners. If you don’t pursue the fast speed and need a pair of shoes with good comfort level, protection and economic, you can choose GlideRide. It’s very suitable for jogging. The overall performance of GlideRide is good. But the unit weight 295g is too heavy, so it’s not suitable for competition. But due to its good cushion performance and protection, it can satisfy the request of daily training.
